Remember being surprised to learn that “there’s an app for that”? Now it’s more surprising when there isn’t an app for whatever it is you need. I’m proud to have worked on several apps that successfully combine utility with education and entertainment.
I led content strategy and content development for three mobile apps for the Alabama Tourism Department: 100 Dishes, Alabama Road Trips, and the award-winning Alabama Civil Rights Trail app.
Each app required extensive research, content organization, image sourcing, copywriting and editing. I also worked closely with the designers and developers on user experience, QA, and testing of each app.
The Alabama Power Shorelines app (recently renamed the Smart Lakes app), is the companion piece to the Shorelines website, which is a one-stop shop for lake residents and visitors. The app provides critical information for water safety and recreation.
For this app, I wrote and edited copy and worked closely with the design team on user experience.
